Smile Got my '83 GS back.. had to share my story

Hello Everyone.. I am new to the group and if anyone would appreciate my story, you guys would. Anyway, my father bought a new 83 silver GS back in late 1982. I basically learned to drive on this car and drove it whenever possible. When he retired a few years ago, I got the car and drove it as an every-day car till 1999 when the engine blew (no compression in one rotor). Against my better judgement, my (now ex) wife made me trade it in rather than fixing 'er up. A few weeks ago, I got a call from my local mazda dealer asking me what I wanted done to my RX7 which was dropped off in their lot (I used to get it serviced there). I let them know that I didn't own the car anymore, but was interested in getting it back. Well, after A LOT of paperwork, I got them to declare the car abandoned and its back in my garage awaiting restoration. I guess in a way, it found me! As part of a long-distance father-son project we are going to restore it back to its original 1983 condition. Its actually in pretty good shape. The fact that it was garage kept for the first 15 years of its life shows. Anyway, I'm sure I'll have a question or two for the group as the project continues (like where can i get high-performance tires for those 13" rims?). I'll post pictures if anyone is interested as soon as i figure out how!

Thanks guys!

-Steve
