This is why I didn’t get into old cars or flipping houses.
I don’t even know where to start with this. Water temp was normal. Just trying to burn off old gas and adjust idle settings. And it started smoking up through the center console and engine.

well, it sounds like you have a lot of work to do in making the twins happy. i wouldn't focus on the 6000 RPM sputtering until you address them and just give the thing a fresh tune up (fuel filter, ignition parts, etc.). get those things out of the way, then tune the twins themselves, then if it's still doing it, you can look into why?
do you have any idea how it generally ran when your dad was driving it? also, another thing to consider (when the time comes) is that Wyoming has mountains, and Florida is flat, so you may need to adjust accordingly.

I don't know the last time it ran at full potential.
I've started replacing all of the tune up parts and will be done by this weekend. Also planning on using a fog machine to look for vacuum leaks (once I figure out a way to seal up 4 carb barrels).
I figured I would have to rejet it. Not sure which jets I need and per my other thread, I don’t have the knowledge or equipment to properly tune it. May have to find a professional for that one.
