good source for ignition power?

I need a power lead for ignition power, and dont want to use the fat black/yellow wire that is there on the steering column. anyone know of a 16 gauge or smaller ignition power lead in an '82?

I had to power a relay for my rally lights (dont worry they were temporary) and used power from the cigarette lighter. Its one bullet connector on the back of the lighter socket. I have an 85 GS.

I was trying to tap power from the radio, but it was causing my radio to die.

I currently have my radio constant power coming from my cig lighter, I guess I could use the other non-ground lead from here, but it is acc power, not ignition power, will it even make a difference?
