Good SE Brakes?
Hey guys, I am about to buy new brakes for my SE and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on a good rotor and pad set up. Any advice will help, thanks.

I've heard of a lot of guys here using hawk pads, but I'm not sure about rotors. A quick search should turn up tons of threads..I'm not even kidding...tons...this actually seems to come up a lot

I recently installed a pair of Power Slot rotors in the rear. They come with some fairly thick black coating over the hat section of the rotor (powdercoat?). Unfortunately, the coating prevented them from seating properly over the register on the axle, and the two retaining screws were proud of the surface, also because of the thick coating. I was able to fix those problems with a barrel sander and a countersink, but that sort of extra work shouldn't be necessary. I would have sent them back, but I needed to drive my car that same day.
I don't know if my issue was isolated or not -- anybody else?
Aside from that problem, I do like the rotors. The slots have the added benefit of serving as a wear indicator. When you can't see them anymore, it's time for new rotors.
Power Slot is part of the StopTech / Centric group, so you'll probably get the same rotor without the slots (and maybe that black coating) if you buy a Centric part.

I also found OE style brembo rotors, has anyone used them?

Be prepared that Hawk brand will dust something awful, after running those front and rear for a few years, I was pleased to change them due to the dust you'd get after only a few driven miles. Went with EBC (green stuff?) and they've worked very well with very little dust over the past several years. Good luck, whatever you choose,
