Good Save, at least I THINK it was

Anyway, I was looking over my Haynes Manual and such and looking at my fuses to make sure they were ok. also looking at the diagram on the board on the lid. Then I noticed something interesting. Where a 10A should be there was a 7.5. WHO THE HELL PUTS A LOWER THEN WHAT IT SAYS fuse there. so I ran my happy *** to pep boys and showed them the diagram asked them where the fuses were and bought a pack of them, came home and changed them right there and then. now I dont know if MYself I put in the right fuses, the haynes doesnt really cover the LE or something, cause the fuses it shows in the book are the glass tubes when the ones I put in there are the prong ones. and yet also the diagram on the fuses box on the car is differant then the one in the book. also after I changed the fuses my RPM guage and my fuel guage still no working. is there another fuse box Im not seeing or could it be the possiblity when he changed the transmission to a 1985 transmission its goofed-up?

For the fuel gauge, check the connection on the back of the tank. They get corroded over time and just stop working. Just clean up the connection and see if that works. If you need pictures, check my website, page 4 or 5 I think.

As for the tach, the signal comes off the trailing ignition, so check the trailing ignitor on the distributor. An easier way is just to verify that you have spark on the trailing plugs (the top ones).

all a lower fuse would do is pop earlier if there was a short. A bigger fuse could cause a problem smaller is just safer..

7.5 to 10amp. that should be good for 2.5 hp, right?

nothing wrong with putting in a lower fuse. 7.5amp will just blow sooner and easier than a 10A. Only downside is that the fuse might blow under normal operation.

It's bad if you put a larger fuse in place, but you can't do any damage with a smaller one.

As for the haynes manual... It was written for an SA. Check chapter 13. It include all the updates for the newer 1st gen rx7's

I don't trust the fuse diagram on the loid because I've found them different too often.
