This question maybe a little stupid but i have no clue wat the answer is.......why do carburated cars have the barrel shaped intake filters....why can't they have the same thing as a fuel injected car?

air flow, simple as that, plus they don't need the AMF like EFI cars do. thats the main reason EFI cars have a air box and such. also think how the air has to flow in the carb, for all purposes on N/A cars it flows down. if you put an air box on the carb with it being turboed/supercharged then the air would hit a side and would loose some of the fuel mixture b/c the air would slightly compress against that one side. where as in a turboed/supercharged car it's not gona realy matter. the air is already compress so it just needs to put up what fuel it can. in a efi car it's not realy gona matter b/c it isn't up to the air to pick up the fuel, the fuel is *injected* into the air. yes the air needs to mix it but the injectors do most of the work. i hope that helps a little
