Going to be leaving the 1st gen

I will be finishing my IT7 car and selling it, also finishing my 83' LE and selling that also. So in a few months or so if anyone will be interested in one of them let me know. I have lots of spare parts for the racecar or the LE. I havn't decided on prices yet as I have to see how much more I put into the cars. Don't worry though I'm not leaving the RX7 world just upgrading to a 3rd gen. The nice driving car with boost bug bit me haha.

Hey, at least you're not chucking a V8 into your cars.

Good luck with the FD.

Best wishes, IG. I've never driven a 3rd gen; if I did, good chance I'd get the bug too!

I drove both, and well, third gen is really a great car. However, I would never want to be 1st gen-less....

There is something about these old cars. As bumpy, rouged, falling apart as they are..
But when I drive something newer that's smoth and easier to drive.. u realize how much fun these old girls are to drive..

This is true and I will miss my cars! But it's one or the other, and I havn't diriven my frist gens in about a year. So that's why I have decided to do this. Maybe later in life I will get another first gen. Thanks to everyone who has helped me, and I will still be hanging around the first gen section alot. This place rocks.

I just picked up a new Ford Escape. It's very quick with the V6 -- almost as quick as my SE -- quiet, nimble, and plennty of storage. But is doesn't thrill like the Rex! My SE is still pretty quiet (except fo that bad idler arm bushing).

The idler arm bushing is easy to replace. You can do it in 10min if you've done it once.

$200?! go hit that guy. It cost me $6 for the bushings and not even 10 mins to do. If you have air tools it won't even take you 10 mins. Just impact the nut off the arm, push it out the bottom of the car, grease new bushings, put them on and reinstall. Its easy. Good luck with a FD import guy.

Thanks for the tip, 82 T.A. Sometimes that bushing is so loud! One hell of a rattle.

Import Guy, if you start to miss working on a 1st gen, let me know. I'll be glad to supply a car for you to get your repair fix.

yeah I have been toying with the idea of getting an FD after my first year of college.

The reason? By the time I do a widebody, wheels, and turbo, I could have gotten an FD anyway. But thats a year away.

Yea I know, mine went bad last march or so, it scared the hell outta me when it started banging around, I thought a strut blew or something like that. I would replace the whole arm as the ball joint on it is worn, but I won't have to if this rack and pinion kit ever comes out.
