For and SE. Has anyone tried a setup to just extend the breathing tube that crosses in front of the radiator down to some sort of scoop intake. Would be an easy ram/cold air intake if I could find some air scoops.

This required cutting back some of the rubber 'waffle' ducting that carried the stock mounts, but also allows you see the air filter assembly through the NACA duct when looking inside the headlight lid. This is a short duct, so I'm sure it develops some additional PSI, tho no way to measure the pressure at varying speeds.

For the rain consideration, I *wanted* the lid(s) to be up when it was raining to prevent the rain from being forced up the duct and directly on top of the air cleaner element (remember this is an SE with a flat filter element). When the lids are raised, they prevent RAM air from going up the NACA duct, but don't block off the duct, completely, since the intake ducting is then exposed at the joint between the hood and the headlight lid where it has depressed at the rear. This prevents rain from being forced into the intake, and also provides a cold air (tho not RAM air) source for the intake to draw.

The end result is a system that works well in both wet and dry conditions, provides RAM air at vehicle speeds, and also looks cool with the NACA design right at the front of the car. I'd post pics, but don't have a means to host. HTH,
well done.. this is the type of thinking that i like to see go into something like this.. nice job

(also, you can just attach imagines to your post. you donot need a web server to host them)
