Here in Australia the 3 distinct versions of the 1st gen are called Series 1(79-80), Series 2 (81-83) and Series 3(84-85). We only got em in one trim level. I'm not sure which American model it's comparable to but it"s definately not the GSL-SE as we didn't get the 13B over here. It has power windows and mirrors, cloth interior and we also have the headlight and rear window sprayers. Keep em coming. BTW, I like your avatar.

All 1st gens except the American version had headlight sprayers, but I'm not sure why (Japanese, Australian, Brittish and Canadian). Canadian versions had them on the GSL and GSL-SE models, but I'm not sure about other countries.
All 1st gen RX-7s (1978-1985) are known as SA's or FB's.
The Serial #'s on 1978-1980 models identified them as SA22C's and 1981-1985 VIN's label them as FB332's.
in North America, 1978 models were actually sold as early 1979 models.

yeah, I got one of those "built in '78" models, sold as a '79.. serial # 14104, so I don't know how early that was in the imports into the United states, if they included other builds in these serial numbers, but hey, it's about the 14 thousandth RX-7 ever built.. that's gotta be worth something, huh?
