gear shift boot

so carrying on with my first clutch change, i found that the lower black gear shift boot is ripped.

does anyone think i should replace this - it is tough to find.

also - how do i get the bushing off of the ball - is it as easy as taking the ring off of the top of it (i fear having to replace stuff i don't need to)

thanks

Black Dragon has that part, it can let both fumes and noise in so if those bother you, replace it.

To remove the one from the top side of the ball, remove the shifter **** and retaining nut.
