Hey guys, I have an '85 GSL that has an issue with it's gauge cluster lights. When I have the lights on, all the lights work except the gauge cluster. They turn on and then turn off over time. When they stopped working, I shut off the car and turned my lights on and off, the gauge lights would turn on and then off right away, so I kept doing it and each time they got dimmer and dimmer until they just wouldn't turn on. I let it sit for a bit and turned them back on and they were bright again but wouldn't stay on for long at all. Does anyone have any ideas as to what it could be? It's almost as if the lights have to be charged or something. And another note, the dimmer doesn't work (either full brightness or off), but I've never had this problem until recently. Any help would be much appreciated, I tried to be as thorough as possible with my explanation of it.

 

Either replace or bypass your dimmer, in order to continue trouble shooting.
