Gauge cluster bad?

Im picking up an 85 gsl tomorrow from a friend. The gauge cluster has some issues. When he got the car, it didnt have a tachometer, the speedo is way off, and the lights do not work. Every other gauge works fine.

Im not sure how these things work. Am i looking at a wiring issue (everything else in the car works) or do I just need a new cluster?

Thanks in advance for any input.

The speedos are notorious for failing when they get old. Make sure the cable is connect right and
so on. Since you are missing the tach and the lights don't work, you will have to pull the console
to fix all that anyway. Also might want to buy a nice used console as well. Sometimes its easier
to swap the whole console instead of fixing all the issues in your current one.
