gas shoots out the carb!!!

well I am missing my car and since spring is slowly creeping upon us I think i am revisiting my ol' 7. I had rebuilt the carb (using a kit purchased at napa most likely) I tor it completly down. used a clean surface . blah blah. is there anything that I can look at to alieve feul from spurting out of the carb. old faithful stlye. A TWM IDA EFI setup looks sweeter all the time.

Thanks

Rich

Possible needle valve sticking open? Floats not adjusted right?

Sticking needles are quite common on fresh rebuilds. Tap the banjo bolts where the fuel supply goes into each bowl, that may help lossen them up. Where is the fuel level in the sight windows, both front and rear? A flashlight and dental mirror will help you see the rear window. If you can't see fuel in the windows, that usually means the floats are sticking and the bowls are full. Also, make sure the solenoid on the driver's side of the carb is working. Applying 12 violts to it, off and on and you should hear an audible click.

If the needles continue to stick, you may need to pull the top of the carb off, work the needles up and down and apply some 3 in 1, oil.

Well I offer absolutely no help whatsoever, but I wish you good luck! carbs are your friend as long as its not a rochester!
