I swear my 81' gsl sucks down more gas than a...I seem to get about 13mpg. Is this normal??

 

I drove a 85 I picked up today from Pennsylvania... 192 miles to get it home and only used 1/2 a tank...!!! It is COMPLETLY STOCK though... and I do mean COMPLETLY STOCK.

 

I have an '82 GS with a Bridge Ported 12a, Holly 465 w/ intake from RB, RB SP header, RB exhaust, grounding kit, MSD Blaster 2's, Magnacore 10mm wires, etc. etc. and when i take her out to flog her, i'll get between 5 and 8 mpg, but cruising on the freeway i'm getting ~24mpg.

 

my stock 81 gets decent mpg on the freeway cruising like around 26-28, but when stop and go driving ie around town and what not, i only get like 10-15 depending on how im driving

 

BSFC. look up into it.

 

bsfc? you mean search for bsfc??? sorry its hella late long not and i dont know whats going on with the bsfc

 

I recently changed plugs and wires on my stock 12a and went from 19 mpg to 23 mpg.

 

yeah!!! my 85 sucks gas hard core my gas only lasts me like two days...(example. from half a tank one day will take it to just a little above a quartar of a tank....it really sucks but i deal with it....gotta love the perks of a first gen...
