hey i have a 84 GSL, and my gas guage does not work. I took it to a mechanic and he said it needs changing as the sending unit and wiring is all fine.

my question is.. will the "gas is low" light on the dashboard still light up when the tank is near empty, because i really have no clue how much gas i have in there!

Try cleaning the connector at the tank. They get rusty and then dont make good contact.
