My gas light pulses ,just bright enough to see, even with a full tank, just about matches my heart rate 68 per minute. not much more than an anoyance. certainly not life threatening. Any good ideas ?

 

A. Forget about it.

B. Check that the little voltage regulator on the back of the gauge cluster is functioning properly, and that the ground connections are all good.

The beauty of this is that if option "B" doesn't work out for you, you can always go back to "A".
