fuse blowing (my mind)

I have an 85 GSL 12A and it has been blowing the 20amp engine fuse while I am driving. This cuts the fuel pump and obviously I get no fuel to the carb. The fuel pump and relay were recently replaced with stock parts. Is there any other reason other than a short somewhere. Any wires I should start looking at? I did notice that my #2 water temperature switch (2 wire harness that hooks to the back of the water pump) is broke and I haven't got a new one yet. It is not touching anything but could this be causing some kind of power fluctuation(sp)? I just need a place to start looking or insight on why this would happen. Thanks, Vic

Do you have any aftermarktet wiring going on under the dash? When I got mine, there was all sorts of wires that were patched everywhere for a CB and radio. I had to remove them to keep my window fuses from blowing.

Sometimes people will plug a wire into any part of the fuse panel they can get juice from without realizing it's pulling too much.

The only thing aftermarket on the whole car is the alarm and it was installed be an audio shop six years ago and it never caused a problem. I took the connector for the #2 water temp switch off the car and drove about 25 miles today and it never blew the fuse so I guess the wire from it was touching metal somewhere. Now I have to get a new switch. Thanks, Vic

The wire for the engine stuff goes to a ton of things. The positives on the igniters and the coils. I believ someone a while back had a problem with this and it was one of the coil wires.. HINT: The problem wire color is black/yellow
