AZ Fusable link ????

I've been rebuilding an 82 and finally got to the point of checking the electrical system. The only power I have in the cab is the volt meter, hand brake light, and the periodic left head light motor, no light. I know for a fact that the fuses in link did not go back in the order i took them out. What next? Are the color coded wires specific enough not to provide power when placed wrong?
