Funny video of a first gen 7

I was at my friends house on Sat and he was telling me about this video of a first gen doing a three minute burnout...OMG that was awsome. I don't know if it's been posted here before, and since I have only a 2nd and 3rd I never come here. If it was I'm sorry, but I couldn't find anything on it when I looked.

I'm pretty sure you're talking about one of the videos from 3rotor.com

Its awsome. The fact that the crowd goes wild when the engine blows makes it even better.

I don't know, but I think the point of doing that burn out was to make the engine blow up. A lot of throttling+high rpm with no speed tends to overheat the oil quickly and not long after a engine failure. Yeap, I loved that video, I have it downloaded. Wonder what mod's he had?

I have had the video a while and was wondering why the engine made the load buzzing sound right before it blew. What happened?

The buzz sounds like to be the fan eating the radiator...

What is the lump on his hood? Is it stock, and if so, what is its function?

Curious minds wanna know.

sure he had a rev limiter - the engine itself *L*

The hood bulge looks like an air intake.

You can hear the buzz for a second, then it goes away, then comes back solidly and poof.

Yeah, like peejay said lol. Rotaries dont explode like that, but their clutches sure can. That guy is lucky he still has legs.

That's one of the best 1st gen vids I've seen. Except for that commercial from like 1980 about the sports car with a 0-60 of 6.2 seconds!

I think the hood popping up at the end is the finale. I bet this guy planned this for a long time to win the burnout contest, but I for one dont think the motor blew. I think what you heard was the air intake sound with the hood up at the end

And he definately had line locks on that 1
