funky vacuum sound

I drive a 84 se, and am hearing a (vacuum?)sound while driving. While driving if I move the clutch pedal a small amount w/o riding the clutch; the noise stops. I am not too worried about the problem, because I know there isn't much to do with the clutch. The best source of the sound comes from the same area as the master cylinder, or it could be my imagination. Any help is appreciated. Greg Carter / 84 gsl-se

The actuator rod for the clutch master might be loose and catching a harmonic vibration causing it to make a noise so that whenever you press the clutch pedal the rod toches back with the plunger in the master and absorbs the vibration. It's a little far fetched, but possible.
