Full tank, different temp

Hi everyone. My temperature guage is showing a different reading according to how much gas is in my tank. When it's full, my temp needle is a little past 1/3, but below the 1/2 mark. When my tank is 1/2 full and below, the needle is at 1/3. Any reason why it does this?

Oh I forgot to add, the only things I've done to the car was put the RB powerpulse air intake setup and removed the rat's nest.

It does seem like a stretch. Make sure this is a real correlation, ie see that it happens all the time, not just once or twice, which would just make it a coincidence.

It's real easy to observe a coincidence and think something weird is going on, recently I had a weak battery connection that gave out two times in a row while the car was sitting in the drive overnight. Each time the clock stopped at exactly 1:02 am. I was getting really weirded out but the third time it happened at a different time and I was reassured the 7 wasn't haunted.

So it was just coincidence, maybe helped along by dropping nighttime temps affecting the battery connection, but not information that's going to help a diagnosis.

Temp control can be pretty funny sometimes, the temp guage on my white GSL is fluctuating kind of like you describe, between 1/3 and 1/2 on the guage, and I can't figure out why. I've replaced the thermostat two or three times, no fluid leaks and a fairly new replacement radiator, so I'm just learning to live with it.

But come to think of it, removing the rat's nest is a great opportunity to **** all kinds of things up, you don't have an overflow line from the tank or carb running into your exhaust system or something like that, do you?

No I don't. Well maybe it's just coincidence. It's been running fine without problems so I'll just leave it at that then.
