The guy is giving you BS from the start. I would walk away on principle alone. If you look at it their expense on this is the carbon fiber material, which would be less than a grand I would guess. In return they get tens of thousands of dollars worth of RD that holds a potential revenue stream of at least as much. And the best he can tell you is we dont negotiate that way? BS all the way. You are entitled to be compensated fairly bottom line.

Also dude think. 5.5k$ or having a completely unique car that no1 else will ever have. Honestly w/ all that time and work ide wana keep my car unique even tho personally i want this kit sooo bad /drool

Exactly. And, look at it this way. With that bad motherf*cker on the road, and being the only one like it, you have the distinct advantage of being that unique.

RX-Heaven, that is one sick looking FC.

I*haven't seen a wb kit for the 2nd gens that really care for, until now. *Outstanding work and design. *Only downside is I don't really care for that style of wing, but then I'm, not sure how a whaletail would look on a 2nd gen and it*definitely won't work with the vert's trunk lid. **

im glad you the best decision!

The poor mans patent.
That is really not legally binding. However, the threads that document your build on this forum are, as they are dated and so individual progress.

WHAT??? Why would you sell it? I thought for sure he would have had molds made at a different company and let the royalties roll in or at least just keep it and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Thanks again.
Not sure which wing you are talking about but there is two of them pictured. One was made for the vert by Racing Beat years and years ago. The other is the RE-Amemiya cf GT style wing. That wing will easily mount to the trunk with some simple reinforcing. Actually, the rear bonnet will be reproduced in fg and reinforced for the wing.

For all of you guys talking about royalties from producing this kit are grossly unaware of the reality of a project like his. These cars are a very small market to begin with. Second, the kit is worth more than most FB's and the lack of financial freedom of most who own them do not permit it to happen. Realistically he would be lucky to recoup his investment.

Any hack can purchase and copy a fg kit and sell it for less, it happens ALL the time.

Sorry to see he sold the car, I just hope we can see the finished project of the lucky new owner. I'd sure like to know what he got for it.

you can always replicate your own kit in carbon fiber.
get another fb to put the replicated c/f kit on.
then sell the mold for billions! hehe

It looks like he sold this car. Hopefully he'll come back to let us know for sure. He took a lot of flack from others during this build. At the begining, many thought it was ugly, not going to work, etc. , but he came through and made it happen. It isn't really my style, but you have to give the guy credit on the work and originality of the design.

Yeah, he did execute the body kit really well. I too am wanting to know why he sold the car/if he really sold the car.

I just can't fathom spending that much time, money, and effort into a car, and before even getting it painted just selling it. There is no way. Something had to have happened. He was just talking about how great it would be to have the only CF kitted FB in the world driving around earlier in this thread.

So really - what is all this nonsense about?

If I can make a suggestion. Make sure to get a lawyer and do not give up your rights to the kit either. You never know you may be able to re-sell it yourself someday. Even if this is highly unlikely still a good thing to hang on to.
