To take off the tank, there are two straps holding it to the car... put a jack under the tank with a block of wood and unbolt those straps. (14mm if I remember right)

Then unbolt your fuel filler neck (10mm or phillips head driver... use a 10mm)

Start to lower the tank slowly until you can get to the lines on the top

Disconect the lines (sounds easier than it is) you'll just need a pair of plires... if you have long plires this is the time to use them, there are three lines. Also disconect your fuel lever sender... from the back of the tank, the sender is foward to the left.

Then either pop the fuel filler neck threw is hole in the body or pull it off from the tank (I've always had better luck with just popping it threw the hole, much easier and it stays in the correct orintation

At this point you should have a freed gas tank... there may be 10mm bolts bolted to heat/road sheilds, this usually varies by if someone dropped the tank and did or didn't put them back in.

Fuel lines, just visually follow them and it's pretty self explanitor where they go and how to get them off... 10mm bolts threw clip is all that holds them to the car.

If more help is needed, take pictures and put pointers with where you need help if you have a digi cam. Otherwise we'll still do the best we can.

The 83 FSM has the diagrams, Sec.4, p.3, but I'm not sure how much difference there is between the S1 and S2's. Haven't dropped a tank on an SA.

I have both SA and FB (s3) and was no different on both. The S3, not sure of the S2, has a niffty drain for the tank which helps a lot.
