Fuel Tank Removal Help
Have an 1983 Rx7. Have drained all the fuel. Need to remove the tank for cleaning and internal coating to prevent the rust from getting into the fuel delivery system.
I am not sure how to disconnect the filler hose as it is difficult to see the connection or just which connection to undo?? Should I attempt to disconnect it at the inside in the finder well from inside the hatch back area or try to reach up from underneath over the tank flange??
Have not yet looked at the rest of the connections that will need to be disconnected.
Any ideas will be appreciated.

It's been awhile since I did mine, but if I remember, I took out the bolts in the gas filler neck. 3, I think. After that it dropped right down. My suggestion is to use a floor jack to drop/raise it. Makes it alot easier.

Hiya, Wrench-hand....
Drain the fuel....unplug the electrical wires and tag 'em with tape so you can put 'em back correctly. Disconnect all the small hoses, and mark 'em also. The rubber filler hose is held on with a screw clamp. Undo the clamp and slide it up the hose. take out the strap bolts and work the tank down. You may have to take the fuel pump down to free up the area.....
