Fuel System Questions

I'm trying to plan out a fuel system for my blow-thru 12a setup and I have deadended at a few questions. And yes, I have searched.

1: What size are the lines on the SE fuel tank? I know the 12a models have 1/4" feed and return lines, but what about the SE?

2: Has anyone tried running a surge tank, or know where I could buy a premade one? My idea is to mount a surge tank in the engine bay and use my Carter pump to move fuel there, and then install a high-pressure unit in the surge tank to get the pressure necessary.

Comment away.

You KNOW the 12A has 1/4"?

'79-'85 12A cars have 5/16" send and 1/4" return.

The GSL-SE has 5/16 send and return lines but the tank has a 1/2" send line coming up and out. After the pump or the filter, whichever it was) it reduces to 5/16"

I considered a surge tank. I'd rather use a GSL-SE tank and its sump cup thing. I'm still debating.

Ok, against you Jeff I know nothing, once again I forgot that.
I'm not sure about that 1/2" line though, I've already worked with the fuel system and replaced all the rubber lines between the tank and the hardlines running under the floor, and I don't remember coming across any 1/2" lines...
Can anyone confirm this?

It's probably because you don't have a GSL-SE tank. Only they had the 1/2" line coming up out of the tank and into the filter (or was it the pump first?). All others had 5/16" send and 1/4" return.

Misreading makes me look like a fool.
Thank you Jeff.

More questions...
Does the SE tank fit right into an earlier model (namely an 83)?

And still looking for some info about surge tanks in 1st gens. I've read posts about people using them, but no info about the actual setup. REVHED?
