This has been an ongoing problem that I'd like to get fixed, everything I do left hand turns, doesn't matter how full the tank is, what speed i'm taking the turn (even as low as 10km/h) it bogs down a bit and have to hold the throttle to keep it from stalling. Right hand turns works fine.

For my fuel setup I have an intank walbro 255lph pump, it has a slosh cup in the bottom of it too where the return line feeds into. Mallory 4301 regulator. Any suggestions what it might be?

where did you get your walbro pump? There is a thread in the FD section about bunk chinese made Walbro pumps that look exactly like the American made ones. Besides that, being that it's left hand bends only, i'd be suspicious of a possible electrical problem?? Good luck.

 

ya i read the whole fake thing and made sure i paid a few more bucks to make sure it was a legit one. i don't see how wiring would do that though

 

Check the float level in the carb. I just bought a 85 gsl that had low float levels and it was doing the same thing, but would run fine everywhere else. I drove it from Ca. to Va. with it like that it was a little annoying but a minor thing.

There could be a loose connection that only crops up during left hand turns. because the issue is constantly there, and always left turns, volume of gas being an irrelevant variable, that is the only thing that i can think that is doing it.

 

I had the same issue, resolved it by reducing the fuel pressure. That was on a Nikki carb though, so I'm not sure if that helps at all....

 

ya i doubt that is. because i'm not running that high of a pressure 50psi..

 

Well, since I know exactly how your tank and pump are setup. I would suspect wiring too. The only other thing I can think of is there's crap in the slosh cup that may be clogging the filter on the Walbro.

 

i kinda doubt it ... it was pretty clean ... I'm going to change out the filter after the pump though just incase.

 

If there is any crud in the tank at all, wherever it came from, it will migrate to and remain in the sump cup. But you're right, there shouldn't be any crud after we refurbed that tank. Turn direction should have no affect on the filter. Another possibility is the fuel line may be loose/flexing and getting pinched at some point.

 

i don't see how the braided hose would be easy to pinch.

 

It shouldn't, just tossing out ideas. I'm more inclined to think it's electrical.
