fuel pump whining

well today as i dropped my car off for the week i noticed when i got out that the fuel pump was whining ( engine still running) im guessing this couldve been part of the cause of my suspected misfire at high rpm acceleration. wondering if any of you guys could help me choose the next fuel pump for the car. i was looking at the Holley Red fuel pump. i should also say that my 84 has a 1991 13b N/A swapped into it with ITB's. anyone have a good/bad experience with the pump?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

had no "issues" with them except they are noisy. that was my experience with Carter as well. i've read that Mallory pumps are just as good, but quiet, so maybe you'll want to look into Mallory.

just a thought since you mentioned it, my guess is if the pump was the source of your high load misfire, then it probably should have been accompanied by some power loss as well. did you experience that?
