fuel pump on SE
yeah has anyone here with a prior fuel pump failure gotten a "warning". This morning after my healthy commute I was chugging into school and I pull up to stop sign and the car has died. I had the stereo up so I didn't hear the nature of it. I'm sure it's not the signal to my MSD as I've had it running on the trailing plugs b4, also I'm sure my MSD is still receiving power as the car won't crank over without it. I did manage to start the car shortly into the problem by extending the gas pedal to the floor and cranking till it fired enough for my full throttle signal to apply. The car then ran fine the next 1 mile to school. when cranking the car I heard an unpleasent noise coming from the fuel pump area. Before I purchase a walbro i just wanted to see if anyone here has had a similar experience where you got a warning b4 the fuel pump fully died. If not well I'll just change some battery cables, test some connections and apply dieletric grease. thanks in advance

Fuel pumps usually go out with out a sound. I have heard some whine when they are going bad but it was mostly ford products. I would first test your fuel pressure (test at idle and WOT) and see if it is within factory spec. Unless you have known the car to have bad wiring that probably won't be the cause.
