fuel pump/regulator question
intend running a holley high pressure pump with regulator on a n/a 13b setup with 48 ida
any of you done this and experienced any problems ? I heard that the holley actually pushes too much pressure hence the need for regulator which just actually inhibits flow so causing less volume. less volume being bad for the carb so you could have cornering problems, float bowl going empty under hard acceleration, pump becomes noisy an eventually premature failure !

the pump is kind of loud, but with a regulator you shouldnt have a problem with flow. you need a regulator because the holley pumps can push out like close to 14 psi and you only need around 2-4 for your carb.

When you say high pressure, which pump are you refering too? An fpr limits psi, not volume. Depending on engine, porting, usage, etc, the Webers can empty the fuel bowl. This is usually addressed by modifying the carb itself with a float bowl extension. This mod requires one side of the float bowl to be cut out and an extension tig welded on. This is not a usual diy mod and I am not sure if this works on the ida's, dcoe's or both.
