Have a very nice "fat" Nikki carb installed and RB street port exhaust. All is great unless I run ROT thru 1 and 2 gear, the stock pump can't keep up. Replaced with Walboro pump but this pump has too much flow even with regulator. Looking at stock carb specs, 3 PSI and about 25 GPH; what pump would the rotary gurus on here recommend. Holley Red and Blue appeared to be over kill also. Holley Might Mite? Thanks.

 

It should be 2.5psi, not 3psi. It's very important. Heck I've been needing to keep mine at an indicated 2psi lately. Of course who knows how accurate my pressure gauge really is. Especially at the lower end of its 15 psi range.

If you really want a good setup that delivers enough volume but won't over-pressure the carb, you really should stop messing around and get a Mallory 4309 fpr. It's what I use and it can tame an MSD 2225 pump which is advertised as running at 43psi base pressure for EFI. I'm only using this pump to keep up with the demands of boost, and had to run a 3/8" return hardline under the car back to the tank. You won't need anything that elaborate to run NA. Just get a Carter or Holley pump around the 6 psi range meant for carbs.

 

What about Mr. Gasket electric pump. Its max PSI is 3.5 and flows 45 GPH. This flow much better volume than stock, and pretty responsible PSI. I run FPR set at 2.5.

 

Mr. Gasket anything sucks, do not use.

Just to add, I have a Holley Red pump and a Holley FPR. Both seem to work pretty well in my setup at the moment.
