fuel pump problems

So i go down to the car and go to start it and nothing? so i narrow it down to fuel. the pump wasnt going on at all when it was cranking so i took it off and hooked it up right to the battery and it worked. so now i got its hooked right up to the battery with a switch, but i dont want to keep it that way. also too what i noticed is that the idiot lights( under the cluster) dont all light up when the Ignition is in the ON postion like how its suppose too , only the e-barke one and the seat belt. could the fuel pump relay be causing this?

This may seem quite obvious so I don't mean to insult you if you have, but have you checked all the fuses? That has happened to me before.

Fuel pump is linked to trailing ignition coil as well.

I had problems with no fuel and it was a fuse.

Now, remember that fuse for the next time you flood the engine.
