fuel pump

will the Walboro fuel pumps on ebay work on a 84 -se?

Don't know what is on e-bay, but the 255lph 95psi shut off is what I have on mine. '85 SE.

It won't get any addtl power unless you're FI. It's pretty easy to install. I had to get the right banjo bolt and got rid of the pulsation dampener at the fuel pump.

I would assume that he is FI. All I did was take the original out and install the new one. Nothing extra required on mine. And yes, there is noticable difference......gas milage dropped! Then again I could never keep my foot out of it anyways. A bit better response is all. Do the direct fire also and FEEL the difference.

Probably not. Most of those pumps are for in-tank use not external. Also, the 255 would have way too much flow for an SE--even one that has lots of mods. Your best bet is to pick up a inline (external) 190 lph walbro along with the right fittings for a completely stock install.

The fittings spec'ed out in the thread will give you a completely stock install.

FYI: I used the 255 lph pump cause I have a turbo with higher fuel requirements, a resistor relay setup for the pump, and an upgraded FPR so don't just go for the bigger pump unless you really need it.

The reason your mileage dropped is cause the pump is over-running your fuel pressure regulator. By itself the pump will not give the car any additional performance.
