Question Acceleration problem (intermittent)

My engine is the 6 port 13B with EFI. Secondary injectors start running at about 3000rpm just after secondary butterflies start to open. Fuel comes straight into the secondary fuel rail, then around into the primary and back to the tank.

Basically the problem is that if revs are under 3000 and I put any load on the engine, it bogs down. If the revs are over 3000 then it will run fine. The acceleration I feel may be hindered however.. I'm not exactly sure on that though.

What sorts of things could be causing this?

Cheers! Happy new year

Man, I can't help you, but I've lived with my share of bogging and having to "nurse it" with the right amount of throttle play and all like you are describing. And I am running a Mikuni on a rally ported 4 port 13B.

I've long suspected that I have more engine than carb, but how to tell for sure ?

I've seen the word bogging over and over and over, so it's fairly common I suspect.

I really wish some of the gurus that have tuned through all these bogs will share and enlighten those of us who have suffered.

That and world peace is all I want for the New Year.

Yeah, I normally have to nurse it a bit up to 3000, but it's never died like this.

I think the primary injectors must have a problem, so I'll see about changing them over (they are 1000cc anyway, stupidly large)..

Also found out my fuel is hooked up wrong. The fuel comes from the filter directly into the sec rail, then thru regulator, into pri rail, then thru pulsation dampener and back to the tank... now thats just wrong, apparently it should hit the pulsation dampener, then go thru the primary rail, the secondary rail then hit the pressure regulator before returning to tank.

Since my engine is from the second generation of RX7, I posted in there and found more help, so if anyone is interested in the discussion, there's been a fair bit here:

Thanks and have a problem-free new year (at least a few weeks or so)
