Fuel Pump?

Just after I finally painted the car it dies. Here's what happen; started normal like every morning no choke so the rpms stay low. Let it warm up for about 2min then I blip the trotle a couple of times and it hesitates and for about 20 seconds it gets worst until it can't stay at idle no more. I cheked the ignition change the fuel filter and then I had my wife press the go pedal all the way down while looking down the carb and no fuel squirt. I think the fuel pump sounds different kind of a wear sound but hard to tell over all the constant rain noise. I think it could be the fuel pump what do you think?

Today I cheked the check valve on the return line, it was ok. I can hear a strange noise kind of like bubling from the fuel pump of gas tank. Anyway will I be able to use the Carter pump without having to readjust the carb and will it be a drop in replacement or will it need a mounting bracket build.

It'll be a custom mount and youll need a holly fuel pressure regulator also - make sure you get the low pressure one.

By the way, nice paint - very vibrant, what color is it?

Thanks a lot. The paint is from Dupont 2kUrathane(Air Force Red) or Hand- Cuff me red. This was my first try at bodywork and painting. By the way I will try to get a used fuel pump because the price is right, free. This is from an abandon Rx7 on the side of the road, not much as soon as the rain stops (4days) I'll try.

The car is running again. It was not the fuel pump. Here's what I did. Disconected the fuel line going to the carb and turn the ignition, it started pumping fuel instantly into a catch can. So I take the whole air filter assembly off and cranked the engine and whola, it started. So I put everything back together and is working only the idle is lower than usual when cold(I rarely use the choke to start it). Maybe I need to go over the whole carb and adjust and check everything, but for now it is working.
