fuel pressure?

ok guys I need to ask a question. first off I have a new fuel pump and reg I have a carter 625CFM carb, Direct fire MSD 6a, rats nest removed, and the racing beat road race exhaust. my question is what is about the avarage fuel PSI that everybody is running with simalir mods and what is the max PSI I should ever run. Also I am going to be running with the stock exhaust for a little while longer so what should I reg the pressure down to?

Fuel pressure in a carbureted engine is "Carburetor specific".
I don't know what your Carter carb calls for. Run the pressure that is recommended by Carter.
I suspect it will be around 6 psi.

You will not gain any performance by running higher than the recommended pressure.

its the equilvalent of bliping the throttle with your foot on startup, so no you don't need it.

I have a holley 600 and I keep it around 6 psi if I can keep the pressure up, stupid fuel pump. But I think it is recommended on mine for 6-7 psi.

One car I know of is running 6 psi with the carter 625. But I have no official documentation. Dave Emanuel did a Carter book that might be useful.
