fuel line questions

As many of you may know, I am putting in a complete stock setup, 89 N/A motor.

Because my car is an 85 GS, its carbed and not EFI.

My question is there anything I need to do to the fuel lines because of the substantial fuel pressure of EFI?

I saw directfreaks setup, and I dont want to put that much money into the fuel lines....... yet.

You don;t have to run braided fuel lines. I am just overdoing it, as usual. Even Mike-P used a stock fuel pick-up for his high-HP Cosmo.

If your running a stock 89 engine, I am pretty sure you can get away with the STOCK Lines. Just make sure you get good EFI fuel pump. A stock GSL-SE pump could work too.

The only recommendation I would give you is, to consider your long term goals, so you don't spend money on parts you're going to have to upgrade again later - if you're going to go crazy.

I saw 25 foot rolls of alluminum fuel line in Summits catalog for about $20 a roll. I thought aobut using that stuff when I replace all my crap from the tank to my carb. Anyone see why not to?

so the stock lines will work for the time being?

I had this horrible thought of turning the key for th first time and watching the lines explode off the car, shooting gasoline everywhere.

Directfreak I trust your judgement, so I guess I'll be fine for the time being.

I should have the car running at the end of the month. I'll post pics when its done AND i'll post a write up on how to deal with the 89 wiring harness. It'll be really complete as I have my buddies from the electronics class next door helping me on it.

There's no reason why someone should have to have the same headache I'm having.
