Fuel Line question

I went to change my fuel filter and the line leading into the filter I couldn't get the clamp off of the filter so I tried to unclamp the rubber hose from the metal one leading from the tank and a piece of the line snapped off inside the rubber. Now, this car has sat for 17 years, so how do I change that metal line? Or is that part of the gastank.

I would think you could probably just slip the fuel line onto the metal line and clamp it down real good.

how much of it is broken off? if you can still run a rubber line a fair bit on there i would just clamp it down, perhaps use two clamps and push it on further to be extra safe since the metal line no longer has the lipped edge to safeguard against blowing off.

may aswell buy a few feet of new rubber fuel line hose and new clamps to replace the old and brittle parts.

like literally this much | | is broken off. Think I should just get new clamps and rubber lines? That's going to be alot easier than new metal lines. hehe thanks
