That is freakin clean. One question. Any reason you decided to go with the down draft intake instead of a wrap around? If I understand the throttle body. It could be run either way. If one was to turbo that setup. It would seem to be easier to do it with a wrap around intake. No complaints, just curious. Very nice setup.

^+1 But it seems that it wouldnt be too tough to swap out that manifold for a sidedraft

Having a wrap around ITB myself I can answer that one. Having 2 injectors on the bottom would not clear the engine at all. Mine doesn't which is the only reason that it clears it. I will be getting a centrifugal superchargerwhich as you mentioned would aid to have a wrap around like this. You could make a custom intake I suppose that would sit about 30 degrees to the horizon to get that second set of injectors. Or what I'll be doing, adding them in the Manifold as secondaries. Here's a few shots of what it looks like. Please excuse the wiring on the driver side as its not completed yet. And don't even ask what that white stuff is because I think the camera just made it up

Putting the secondary injectors in the intake was what I was thinking. I am very interested in these type setups. I still like the idea of having a 4 barrel throttle body, but with fuel injection it opens up the tuning a little better. Especially running 4 injectors. I would still like to see how one of these setups would handle boost . BTW, I really like the ITBs sitting on a 12A!

You'll be finding out in maybe a year or so when i get my Rotrex Supercharger on there. 12a's are more unique to see a car done up with one. Besides my 12a is producing more torque then the 13b's out with my old Holley setup. Should be even more with the longer intake runners and better AFR and ignition. I'm hoping to be on my first dyno run around end of april march, as in may I have a tunning session from BDC.

Thanks Guys. Yes its downdraft to allow for the extra 2 injectors. The beer is Carling Black Label . The car is almost ready for computer. All I need to do is reattach the wiring in the engine bay, put the battery in (which is blue luckily) and cut a hole in the body to get the hoses to the fuel tank and hook those all up. All of which im hoping to get done today. Speaking of which I think its time to get some old clothes on and go work on my baby

Its called Spray on Engine Enamel. Its made in South Africa so I doubt you will get a hold of it .

Well i've finished completely with the fuel system. I must just wire up the fuel pumps and test that it all works properly with no leaks. Ill post a pic of the surge tank and pump with the ridiculous number of hoses in the back tomorrow when ive tidied it up a bit. The engine bay is also complete, except for the electrical side but I was exhausted from being under the car all day, and very dirty. Must also add the belts and reattach the intake manifold because its leaking coolant. Forgot to add silicon when I put the o-rings in.

Some pictures with all hoses on and battery in.

Looks great. One tip. Next time you have your intake manifold off or build another engine, plug the two coolant holes in the housings with freeze plugs. That way you don't have to every worry about leaks and you don't have to drain the coolant when you remove the intake. Mazdatrix sells them and they are really cheap. You should be able to get them at your auto parts store. Here's a link http://www.mazdatrix.com/b1.htm

Yeah I know about those just never got around to it. And I doubt they stock them anywhere here in S.A . From what i've seen there is probably less than 100 of these cars running in the entire country. Unless they are some sort of universal plug used for other cars too?

OK just an update. Due to some financial problems the project kind of went on hold for a while. But im pleased to say it is back underway. I ordered the Megasquirt V3 (unassembled) along with sensors and wiring harness from www.diyautotune.com on monday night so it should be here soon. I also found a place in South Africa that will import brake pads for me so im sorted there. So now I just need to assemble and fit the megasquirt and then I can start tuning. I actually saw a guy on this forum with a 13b with my throttle bodies and injectors with a street port using a megasquirt so im hoping to get a hold of his map for something to start from. If your here let me know . Anyways ill keep you posted.

Also, something strange happened to me last week. The 7 was looking all sad and dirty outside so I pushed her in and gave her a good clean. While doing so I discovered an ant colony living under the carpet behind the passenger seat!!! I was not happy ofcourse so I quickly got out the bug spray and nuked them all. Must still vacuum up their bodies and eggs etc . My poor 7 just wants to go but instead shes being eaten alive. Oh well shouldnt be too long now.

Cheers

I can't remember where I saw that other guys setup my brother showed it to me so ill let you know when I find it. Heres a pic of the ecu in bits, the wiring harness and the two air/water temp sensors. I should get started this weekend, lets hope i dont screw it up .

It's not quite that easy because IDA and DCOE manifolds have a different stud pattern. There's lots of people running turbos with the IDA. They generally use a "log" style plenum on top of the throttle body.
