My fuel gauge would work one day and not the next. I hated it with all my life. I found that my fuel tank sending unit was bad. It would make a little bit of connection for a while and then quit. The only option is to replace it. The connection at the sending unit corodes and falls apart. Remove your drivers side rear tire and the plastic inner panel and you will see the sending unit(no need to remove tank) in the top of the tank. That is you rmost common problem with these cars. My 2 cents.
