Question fuel filter

I replaced my rusted gas tank cause it kept clogging my fuel filters and u could see the rust specks in the filter thru the whiteish plastic,,ok no more rust, but my question is while the car is running , about how full does the filter get with gas, mine looks close to 1/3 full with the gas being pumped thru,,,,,has anyone else done a visual on their filter w/engine running? should it look more fuller of fuel?

That air in there will clear out when you drive it hard. It's nothing to worry about.

you can change the filter real easy lying on your back... it's easier if you use a floor jack, jack up the rear in the middle, put jackstands at the ends of the axle, and take the left rear tire off... it's two hose clamps and that's all.

new filters should come with a pair of E-Z-squeeze type clamps but I always use hose clamps, preferably the kind made for fuel lines that are "full circle" clamps. Wouldn't be a bad idea to use a pair of needlenose vise-grips and GENTLY pinch off the hoses at the filter so you don't leak very much fuel.

Yeah replacing the filter is easy enough. Just like peejay mentioned becareful not to put a crimp in the fuel lines when using vise grips on them.
