reporting back: tps is adjusted correctly. it was the problem. i aquired a variable resistor and i am going to install that today. i will re-check the timing. my new problem is the idle, which is about 500. it does not chenge by adjusting the air screw on the throttle body. i am concerned. also, the car has no high end power. it doesnt pull at all. i am assuming i am running too rich. hence the new variable resistor. i didnt have one before. the fuel filter is new and the pump is good and you can rev the heck out of it and it is fine. out her under load and its a whole different car. any help would be most appreciated. thanks in advance, dave
Does it just fall on it's face,, or does it start to miss,?
was the car a 12a car to start with ? if so, it is fuel starved. fuel system hardline is too small,,,diameter.. not enough fuel flow. -SE's hardline is larger for 13b RE-EGI. power loss at hi-rpm's be it a 12a or 13b = fuel starved. If the car was an -SE to start with, then i'll shut up.. These cars are(were) designed to exact specs.in other words nothing is more then it needs to be. these cars are designed to a ( Tee) no more,no less.
