frustrating electric gremlin SOLVED
hmm.
i noticed that searching for your question is preferred before you add a new thread about it. but only being allowed to search once every 20 seconds puts a damper on that.
anyway - this is a followup to an old thread i made about an electric gremlin where the sidemarkers and turn signals all illuminate when i step on the brake.
i solved it. replaced the taillight assemblies. there must have been a short in the passenger side assembly. replacing it solved the problem, and now my brakelights are acceptably bright.
i had my car in at hayes a while ago (my car broke down about 3 blocks from them so i pushed it there, that's my excuse) and they mentioned the gremlin and wanted me to let them check out the computer for a minimum hour of diagnostic work. only took me 5 minutes to change out the taillight assembly with a $10 replacement i got from a junkyard.
