front cover removal out of car

im going to be removing the front cover on the 88 engine that i have to be putting 1st gen cover on the engine and i was reading this http://mazdatrix.com/faq/pulley.htm i was wondering if all of this pertains to me and if so do i just follow #2 sense the engine is out of the car

ps i did search

Just make sure the front of the engine is in the vertical position- facing up. The reason for this is because if you take the front hub off in the horizontal position then there is a chance one of the thrust bearings may fall out of place. Also when the hub is off with the engine facing upward to not rotate the engine until the hub is tightened back up. I think the link you posted pretty much tells it all.
