question on parts needed for a 5 lug conversion on a gsl-se
in the next month or so i want to install a set of convertible wheels on my 85', what would i need to install this suckers on my 85', i know that it has been done but i haven't found any leads or tech info on what parts do i need, i assume that i need the rotors, brakes and maybe spindles of an 89-91 fc, i think i need the complete front strut set up, and the next question, what about the rear, maybe drill new the 5 lug pattern on the axles. Any info or comments................

None of that stuff just bolts up,you need an FC front brake conversion kit in order to install the FC 5 lug hubs and brakes to the FB.
And even then, the high negative offset of the FC wheels might not be correct for the 1st gen, requiring the use of spacers. The rear will require drilling the axles and brake rotors, and use of spacers with the FC wheels.

Not on an SE, but pretty much what you are looking for:

Talk to stilettoman on here. That is his setup. This was done before the kits at Re-Speed were available. Here is his profile: https://www.rx7club.com/member.php?f...oster&t=716833
The other option is to go to www.re-speed.com. You will need the big brake kit (front/rear), rear GSL-SE axles from them in the 5x4.5" pattern, TII rotors/calipers/pads. Not sure if you will need spacers as the GSL-SE is already uses a high offset wheel stock. You will have to talk to Billy at re-speed to find out (bwaits on here). It seems like a lot of work and money, but you will end up with TII brakes in the process.

Thats true,I forgot he had an SE.
However, the FC wheels are wider than the SE wheels,so needing spacers will depend on where the extra width is located, inboard or outboard of the wheel center.
Youll want to do some measuring,or possibly even tap out the rear studs and try just holding the Vert wheels(with tires prefferably) up against the axlee flange. This way you can determine the position of the inner and outer lip of the wheel/tire relative to the fenders.Knowing this info before spending any cash will help you decide if the gains are worth the expenditure........not to mention seeing if the wheels even look right/good on the car.

the only alternative I've found is Super Now in Japan. I think they are quite expensive though. I'll ask my man in Japan.
