Front Cover Differences - GSL vs SE

Hey Everyone,

Currently in the middle of an S5 swap into our GS (ish) endurance racer. We bought what we thought was a 13B GSL-SE front cover, engine mounting bar and oil pan but things seem to be about 1/2 inch off (too long).

Oil Pan fits - so thats a relief. The engine cross member looks identical to the many 12A ones we have lying around - is the SE front bar different?
Front Cover - what are the differences between an SE and a 12A front cover? From looking at the Atkins site, not a whole lot. Looks like it mainly centers around the OMP which we have removed anyways.

There are a few threads that talk about notching the 12A front cross bar - I am open to this. Just trying to determine if we would need to do that only because we got the wrong front cross member or if we have missed something totally like on the front cover (it bolted up to the 13b but looks pretty much the same as our 12A one). Our oil pan fits perfect though so if the 13B front cover is a different dimension, that may solve it.

Looked through a bunch of swap threads but haven't found a clear answer on front cover differences (12A to 13B) or front cross member differences and if we would need to notch it anyways.

Thanks!!

As far as I know, the engine cross bar is the same, it's the engine cradle that's different. The cross bar can be noticed. RB also sells one for this conversion.

The GSL-SE OMP is also different to the 12A. It has 4 hose type so the bolt pattern is different.

Ah Gotcha. I'm blocking that off so wasn't too worried. Was more concerned on physical dimensions.

The front covers are identical dimensionally aside from the OMP. You can use a 12A cover on a 13B and use a 13B mount/oil pan no problem.

You cannot use an FC oil pan though, it is shorter than GSL-SE! FC oil pans are the same length as 12A pans.

I used a gslse keg, front cover, oil pan, and SA 12a engine brace in my 80. I cut a large L notch in each engine mount hole. The 13b is about 20mm longer than 12a, so the subframe is different between gslse and 12a.
