Freaking oil sending unit!!! :(

Ok on my cosmo 13b, I got a factory oil sending unit for it. I got this damn thing in there about as tight as it will go and its leaking oil, anyone got any ideas? I clean it up really good and start the motor up about 10 seconds later, here comes a little oil dripping down I have tried teflon tape, all kinds of things.

Im positive its coming from around the oil sending unit, I can watch it come out of there or close to... I have got this thing in there so tight Im afraid its gonna snap off if I turn on it anymore Anyone had this problem?

Are you referring to the "Golden Mushroom" under the Oil Filter? On the rear end plate?

I just dont see how an O ring is gonna do it on this one

I might try some liquid teflon... See what that does...

are you using the tefolon tape in a blue/white container? i would try some gas pipe tape, usally in a yellow/black container. its thicker and imo better for automotive applications..

you need a small one that fits between the threads and where fitting ends it has to be a tight fit around the threads.

I got a crapload of O rings in about anysize you can imagine... I just dont see that making a seal againstthe housings flat surface and the oil sender's bevel surface after the threads.

I like the JB weld idea if it's still not working. That stuff is great. And if you ever did need to take it out, it can be broken with a little finesse (read: force).
