I have a good engine in my car and a spare 12A. so it is not like I need a really good engine. I just want to tear one down and put it back together. I then what to port it and see how it does and then bridge port it and see how it does, and then try NOS on the bridge. By using junk I can do it without spending any money and not worry about messing up. I will then know what I am doing when I rebuild my 4 port 13B.

So can the Water seals be reused? Or can I use high temp seal in their place?

AKAIK water seals, and all the rest of the "soft" seals can't be reused. Water seals are cheap anyway, so why risk it. If you don't replace the hard seals, and can save your external gaskets, or make new ones yourself, you'll only have to spend $150 or so for new soft seals.

I have not taken one apart yet. Why can you not reuse the soft seals? Do they come appart when you pull them out?
