found gsl-se in junkyard today!

I'm going to take the rear end and front stuff too. The owner said the 13B was good, but wouldn't let me test it.HMM. They do have a 30 day warranty so I guess that is ok. I don't need the engine, so let me know if you want to know where it is. I would be willing to grab it for ya.
What I do need is clarification on doing the parts swap with my gs. I've pretty much got it down for the rear, but how much do I need to take off of the SE for the front rotors to go on my 7? I've looked around on here and seen some different answers to this question.

since your there, just grab the entire strut it will make your life alot easier. maybe the brake lines, IIRC the Se brakes caliper had different thead pitches. Also another good idea would be to grab the proportioning valve so that you know your getting the correct bias. i'm sure someone else will chime in for more help.

i fyou do take the engine,

I can use the rotor housings, and center housings, if they are in good shape.

Also the oil-pump.

you can prolly sell the injectors and things to some of the members here., I think there is a bloke in PA who may be looking for some -SE specific injection parts.

i say just tow the whole car over to your house use what ever you want, and sell what ever you can and then get more money back when you scrap it for metal, i don't think it'd be that much of a price difference if you just asked for the whole car or the rear end ... (i once went to a local junk yard and they told me 500$ for the engine and then called another day about getting the whole car and they said 400$ so i picked up the whole car and returned it)

Can't get whole car, he will only do parts. I wish I could, I'd just fix it! It's not that bad.

I think he said the engine was $200

After I take some body panels, the engine, rearend, and front suspension He will be left with nothing anyway. No bending the rules though. Oh well.

its a junk yard .... if there's anywhere in the world that you can bend rules its there... argue with deal ... the only way that they can't sell you that car is if the car was held back by the insurance company or the actual frame was cracked and then you'd have to do some paper work and so on

I'm going to be in Slidell LA. for Mardi Gras again this year (soon). I just looked at the map and it looks to be another 30 miles to Biloxi MS. from there. Just how good could this engine be? Is the car too far gone to start? Can you check for compression etc? How many miles? Basically anything you can tell me about it good or bad would be appreciated. If it's worth a damn maybe we could meet up for Mardi Gras partying and an hung over engine pull.

The engine was good, maybe. I talked to the guy that drove it there. He said it ran great but it was wrecked it the front. I cranked the engine over, but It was ONLY the engine. It sounded good with the plugs out one at a time. The only thing I saw wrong with the car, other than body damage, was the left lower control arm was bent pretty badly. I got the engine but only with the intake and fuelrails. I tried hard to get the whole car, but they said the boss wouldn't do it.

I don't know the miles, but I can go find out. The engine hoist mounts are broken, so it is short one tranny mount bolt. I found somene local to use it, but I told them to let me check here for any takers first. I'll go to the junkyard Friday to check to mileage.

Any other questions let me know. I guess now that I have it, I should put the engine in the sales part of the forum. Oh well.

Well then I guess I should ask how much you're asking for it. How much?

I have $175 in the engine. That's all I want out of it.

I can get the cooler if you still want it. I'm going this weekend. $ I dunno, I'll see what they want for it.
