Exclamation Found: Garage Queen 4 sale!

Hey guys, please don't flame me for posting this here but I thought this is where the people are who would be interested in this hang out.

Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan.

First of all, I have nothing to do with this car. I saw it on my way to work, and its just too nice to end up in the hands of some kid who doesn't know anything about them. Pristine, clean, untouched, unmodified, damn good looking just like it was when on the sales lot.

The car is a red 85 base model (even has original steel wheels with chrome rings) with 115,000 miles on it. It has a few nicks on the hood, but otherwise looks very clean. Underbody appears perfect.

I didn't get to hear it run, or look under the hood, but I was impressed enough with what I could see that I thought I'd put the word out. The guy has had it for 5 years (spoke on phone, but couldn't meet at that time), and stored it winters. Doesn't look like its ever seen snow/salt. Interior looks perfect from what I could see through the windows (grey cloth seats).

He's asking $2,500 for it, but I bet he'd take 15. The front rotors are scored and covered with rust, so it clearly hasn't been driven in some time. Also, there are some obvious holes in the exhaust. He said he was getting ready to put it back into storage, but he could show/sell it at anytime. Sounds like he just wants to unload it so he doesn't have to pay for storage again. Oh, and he says that it runs/drives great with no issues other than the A/C is disconnected.

Phone = 616-669-2149

Someone needs to grab this one before it falls into the wrong hands. With just a little cleaning up I could picture it winning shows. Besides, finding a no-rust car of any type in Michigan is a pretty big deal!

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. I'd hate to see something that nice get torn up and modded out, unless it was done really well. More than anything else, I just don't want some dumb college kid to get his hands on it and start Ricing it out. I hope someone with some taste and sense can pick it up.

If I had an extra stall in my garage, and no wife and kids.............

Yeah - I want it but I'm only 18 so I'm not old enough right?

I'm gonna go back to gluing a wing onto my mom's chrysler.

being a college kid myself, i can tell you that it is not us who rice cars out, we can't afford it. blame the dumb high school kids (hey, everybody can be in high school, right?). dumb college kids don't have money. hell, even smart college kids don't have money. just wanted to throw in my own $.02

as far as the car goes, it doesn't seem like a garage queen if it has 115,000 miles on it.

ya, thats a quite a few miles. It must have been a commuter for the first 10 years or so then just put away. anyways, aounds like a 1000-1500 to me. might be a good little daily driver though.

115,000 miles over 19 years works out to just over 500 miles per week. So yeah, it was driven. However, in Michigan any car that was stored winters (no snow/salt/rust) makes it much more valuable. I looked pretty good at the underside, and there was absolutely no trace of rust. I'm telling you, I was fairly impressed by its condition. Anyway, guess we can't save every 7 that's out there.
