Lightbulb found an easy way to install water temperature gauge

no body responded at all before so i thought i would post again
need yalls opinions

I have a 1979 rx7 and just got done putting in a new mechanical water temp. i could not find a place i wanted to put it so i made a manifold out of aluminum for it to screw into where water could pass by the sender and get a continuius accurate readings. i was not sure if a product was already designed for this application if so i could not find one, am i right about that. well i was mainly wondering if any one would be interested in a easy to install accurate water temperature sender manifold, there are two types and each has a specific place to be mounted. i dont want to say a whole lot right now about it, im working with a guy and figuring out if we could sell theses parts or not. i just want to see what you all think, would a product like this sell and if so how much would you give for a easy to install unit. it only takes a matter of 5 minutes to put in and you dont have to drill any holes or re tap an exsisting hole, so there is not worries about damaging what is already there. just give me yalls opinoins and dont hold anything back i need some feed back good or bad thanks robert robs_seven@yahoo.com

theses are new products i have made one of each type and they only require two extra hose clamps and a knife. you can put them in line wit hthe radiator or the heater hose. i dont have them right now, another guy is looking at them but i plan to make some more soon but you can put them on any car realy i think its a good idea, i saw the threads about the places to pu tthem but why change somthing if you can add somthing easier. just a thouhght

Spend your $$ on something else. Its easier to just tap it behind the wp or in the front cast iron. Having the sensor installed in that aluminum adapter (between the top radiator hose) is ugly IMHO. Make it simple as possible.

like wacky racer signature says there is a difference in works and works well, well personal i have found in my machinist trade, cast iron or aluminum is easy to work with but its also easy to strip or not get the threads just right, and with a npt if its not right then it wont work and then you get to spend your money on somthing else like a new water pump housing or other places, im just saying why driill out and tap somthing that was not ment to be there in the first place. and also the aluminum peices i have made werent ugly if anything they look damn good. and the one for the heater hose is extermely small and hardly seen. oh well atleast im getting some feed back. thanks

I have been doing it in back of w/p for over 15 years with no problem. of course, you have to use 2 wrenches during installation/removal of sender. so there is no need to recreate the wheel.

well thianks for letting me know that, i looked for somthing like that i could nt find one, oh well i guess i got my own hahaha, well the only reason i was tryig to do this is because some people are not that inclined to get things to work in the water pump but if it works great i was just nervous of doing it myself no offense to any one. well guys thanks for the responses. thanks robert

I dont remember where I have seen it, but someone here had one and linked to the site that sold them.

the sender in the water pump only requires a bushing that sunpro sales in a kit for 4.99, Can be found at autozone. It changes the hole from bspt? to 1/8 npt.

yeah i have seen those kits, but they are for a electrical sender i thought, the thing i made was for a mechanical sender. the one i bought was a 1/2 npt that threaded in and had a sender unit like 1.5" long, well i guess still some one got the idea first, and i thought i was on to somthing HAHAHA.
